Chico Detour - Too Easy

Had the pleasure of collaborating with my friends in Seattle-based band Chico Detour on their first release. Mixed mostly fully analog at Champion Street Sound Studios with a couple songs ending up getting remixed digitally at my home studio later on. Mastered in my home studio as well.

Forest Ray - Windfucker (Jebivjetar)

Took another couple trips down to Jackpot! Studios down in Portland, OR to mix this wonderful record with Peter from Forest Ray. This album hit me in a different way than a lot of his older material that we’ve collaborated on. It’s more sentimental, more heartfelt, and more reflective than his older albums and I think it goes a long way in showcasing his growing maturity as a songwriter and as a musician. This is a delightful album for lovers of classic rock, country, psych rock, and music theory. All mixing was done from 2” 24-track tape down to 1/4” 2-track through Jackpot’s Neve summing console with me and Peter riding the faders all the way. Pure analog spontaneity.

Laamb - Bam Bam/FJ

Recorded, mixed, and mastered this single/b-side for Seattle rockers, Laamb. Had a great time tracking this down at The Unknown in Anacortes over a weekend. Mixing for this was fun, as I wanted to create a huge drum sound without relying on sample reinforcement. These songs will also be featured on a forthcoming album by the band.

Stillvettas - Greatest Hits So Far

Mixed this album for Bellingham rockers the Stillvettas. Great fun and collaborative process to work with them again. They recorded all the tracks at their practice space themselves and brought me in to mix.

Cat Valley - Bingo Queen

Recorded and mixed this album for Bellingham band Cat Valley. Recorded drums and most of the bass at Champion Street Sound Studios in Bellingham, all guitars and vocals done in my home studio. Loved to see the band push itself with this one!

Cat Valley - Feral

Home recordings don’t always have to sound bad - at least not if you know what you’re doing! I had the absolute pleasure of producing, mixing, and mastering the EP by local Bellingham rock band Cat Valley, all from my old home studio at the Moore St house we all lived at in Bellingham WA (with the final mixing and mastering done at the new home studio setup across town). Stream the album below or purchase it from their bandcamp: https://catvalley.bandcamp.com/album/feral

Forest Ray - Black Pine

I engineered, co-produced, and mixed this full-length album for Seattle psych-rock band Forest Ray. We recorded this album down at The Unknown Recording Studio in Anacortes, WA to 16-track 2” tape. A fully analog mixdown to 1/2” 2-track tape was down was done at Jackpot! Recording Studio in Portland, OR using their Neve mixing console and Otari tape decks. Album was then mastered directly to vinyl by Paul Gold at Salt Mastering in Brooklyn. Purchase the album digitally or on 12” vinyl here.

Lipstitch - Who's Left and Who's Leaving

Recorded, produced, and mixed this record by Bellingham power pop band Lipstitch. We tracked everything for this album either in the band’s garage or in my small home studio here in Bellingham, WA. Mixing was handled there as well and the album was mastered by Levi Steitz at Black Belt Mastering in Seattle. Purchase the album digitally from their bandcamp here, buy a copy on vinyl here or stream it on Spotify below.

Forest Ray - Wedgewood Tapes

I produced, engineered, and mixed this record for Seattle psych-rock outfit Forest Ray. This session was recorded in the band’s basement studio to an Otari MX5050 8-track 1/2” tape machine and an old Sony mixer. Mixing was then done fully analog at The Unknown Recording Studio in Anacortes, WA to 1/4” 2-track tape and then mastered directly to vinyl by Paul Gold at Salt Mastering in Brooklyn, NY.

Forest Ray - Faded Reflection

I recorded, produced, and mixed this record 100% analog style with Seattle psych rockers Forest Ray. We tracked everything to 1/2” 8-track and 2” 24-track tape at The Unknown Recording Studio in Anacortes, WA and then mixed down to 1/4” 2-track. The album was then mastered directly to vinyl by Paul Gold at Salt Mastering in Brooklyn, NY. Buy the album digitally or on 12” vinyl here or stream it on Spotify below.
